Request data deletion
The Golf Ref is operated by Tremain Ake~Jones. You can request deletion of personal information connected with your account or use of the app.
Delete your Golf Ref access record
This permanently removes your Golf Ref account identifier, email and access entitlement from our app database, including paid lifetime access. It does not delete your ChatGPT account, cancel a subscription with another provider, or automatically refund a purchase. For a refund or other personal information, use the email request below.
How to make a request
- Email tremainjones@hotmail.co.uk from the email address used for your account, with the subject The Golf Ref data deletion request.
- State whether you want your account data, submitted questions, support correspondence, or all identifiable information deleted. If asking about a question, include its approximate date and topic. Do not send passwords, payment-card details or unnecessary sensitive information.
- We will acknowledge the request, verify your identity where necessary, and normally respond within one month. If a lawful extension is needed, we will explain it within that first month.
What we can delete
- Your account identifier, email and access record where deletion is legally permitted.
- Identifiable copies of submitted questions or voice information directly held by The Golf Ref and reasonably locatable from the details you provide.
- Support correspondence, unless it must be retained for a legal, accounting, fraud-prevention or security reason.
Important: deleting the account record may permanently remove access attached to it, including paid lifetime access. We will explain this before completing an account-deletion request.
Saved questions and rulings
Open My Rulings to delete individual questions and answers or select DELETE ALL RULINGS. Account deletion also deletes your account history. For signed-out history, delete entries before clearing your device cookies.
Information stored only on your device
Language and voice settings, glasses mode, free-ruling count and shop-bag information may be stored locally in your browser or app. We cannot remotely remove local information. You can remove it by clearing The Golf Ref’s site/app data or uninstalling the app.
What may be retained
- Transaction or accounting records that must be kept under applicable law.
- Anonymous or aggregated information that cannot reasonably identify you.
- Limited security, fraud-prevention or legal records kept only for as long as necessary.
- Information held by a service provider until its applicable backup or security-retention period expires.
